RB Rankings WR Rankings TE Rankings

(These rating reflect a 12-team league with six points for every passing TD)

Round 1, 2

1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Drew Brees
3. Peyton Manning

Notes: I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I have completely flip-flopped on Rodgers. I have doubted him all summer based on the fact that his o-line gave up 50 sacks last season. However, when I looked deeper I found that his o-line drastically improved during the second-half of last season. They only gave up nine sacks in their last seven games. Rodgers is amazingly efficient, hardly ever throws INTs and separates himself from other top QBs with his rushing stats.

Round 3, 4

4. Matt Schaub
5. Tom Brady
6. Tony Romo
7. Philip Rivers

Notes: His connection with Miles Austin is only going to get better. Plus, the last time Romo had a legit #1 WR like Austin was when he had T.O. in 2007. He threw for over 4,200 yards and 36 touchdowns that year….Good luck getting Brady in the fourth round, even though this is right about where his value should be. If you take away his monster ’07 season, Brady has never thrown for more than 28 touchdowns and has only gone over 4,000 passing yards twice. He’s been solid his whole career, but not as great (fantasy-wise) as you might think…. Rivers continues to be the most undervalued QB in drafts. With or without V-Jax, this team will continue to chuck it downfield. Gates and Floyd are more than capable WRs.

Round 5, 6

8. Joe Flacco
9. Brett Favre
10. Kevin Kolb
11. Jay Cutler

Notes: Additions help both QBs in this group. Boldin will be a huge addition for Flacco. It’s really his first true #1 WR. The only thing holding me back from drafting him a little earlier is the fact that this is still a run-first team….I have no idea what to expect from Kolb. All I know is that he’ll be in a pass-happy offense with a more than capable group of pass-catchers….Bringing in Mike Martz as an OC will benefit Cutler but I am not going overboard here. The o-line is still shaky and he needs to cut down on the INTs…This is the absolute last round you’ll want to grab your starter.

Round 8, 9, 10

12. Carson Palmer
13. Donovan McNabb
14. Matt Ryan
15. Eli Manning

Notes: The QBs in this group are stuck in run-first offenses. I could see Palmer being a bit of a bounce-back candidate this year, one full year removed from his elbow injury. With the addition of T.O., I think the Bengals will pass the ball a little more….I wouldn’t feel comfortable having any of these guys as my starter, but they are solid #2 QBs.

Round 11, 12

16. Matthew Stafford
17. Chad Henne
18. Mark Sanchez
19. Matt Moore
20. Matt Leinart

Notes: This group is full of upside. However, all three of these QBs are young and turnover prone, but any one of them could make a leap into the top-10 with a little bit of luck.

Round 13, 14

21. Alex Smith
22. Jason Campbell
23. David Garrard

Notes: These guys could make good bye-week plays with the upside of being solid #2 QBs.
